  • Abstract:Antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) has been considered to be a new contaminant, and the water environment system is an important medium for the release and spread of ARGs. In order to explore the occurrence and distribution of ARGs in the water environment of the Fenhe River, 12 sample sites from the source to the entrance to the Yellow River were selected to study the environmental factors, the abundance and the diversity of ARGs, and their relationship. The results showed that 62 kinds of ARGs and 6 kinds of mobile genetic elements (MGEs) were detected in the water environment of the Fenhe River. The relative abundances of ARGs and MGEs followed the trend of midstream>downstream>upstream. blaTEM and intⅠ1 were the dominant genes in ARGs and MGEs, respectively. blaTEM positively correlated with tetW, tetB, tetM, ΣARGs and ΣMGEs (p<0.05). The integron intI1 positively correlated with blaTEMsulⅠ, sulⅡ, and ΣARGs (p<0.05), indicating that integron plays an important role in the transfer and enrichment of ARGs in the Fenhe River. Environmental factor pH negatively correlated with sulⅠ, sulⅡ and ΣMGEs (p>0.05). COD and TN positively correlated with blaTEM, tetW, floR, marR and ΣARGs (p<0.05), which indicates that the pollution may affect ARGs enrichment and the horizontal transfer among bacterial communities in the Fenhe River. But meanwhile the occurrence and distribution of ARGs may also be affected by other environmental factors.
